Drill Down with a New Filter

We added a new filter in the SWIS Drill Down tool. Introducing: the Student Referral Count filter.

Introducing: the Student Referral Count Drill Down filter!

There’s something new about the Drill Down tool…did you notice?

When you open the Drill Down tool, look closely and you’ll see a new addition to the filter family. The Referral Type filter menu has been replaced with a new menu simply called: Referrals. In there, you’ll find the same Referral Type filter from before, as well as a new filter called Student Referral Count.

What’s this new filter all about?

The Student Referral Count filter lets you drill down into the data to select only students with

  • more than X referrals
  • fewer than X referrals
  • more than X referrals and fewer than Y referrals

…like this!

When you add the filter to your report, SWIS generates your dataset based on all the other filters first, then applies the Student Count Filter at the end. In this example, the report gives us information about students receiving more than two referrals on the Playground during the 2015-16 school year.

How does the filter contribute to telling the story?
