In this Community of Practice, we learn about research from the Center on PBIS with María Reina Santiago Rosario Ph.D., who discusses how to promote equity in the classroom, using the PBIS framework.

Five components are:

  • Collect, Use, and Report Disaggregated Discipline Data
  • Implement a Preventative, Multi-Tiered, Culturally Responsive Behavior Framework
  • Use Engaging Instruction to Reduce the Discipline Gap
  • Develop Policies with Accountability for Discipline Equity
  • Teach Strategies for Neutralizing Implicit Bias in Discipline Decisions
